Cookie policy

How toooolify uses cookies, localStorage, and analytics across the site.

Overview

Almost every tool runs entirely in your browser — the file never leaves your device. Six PDF tools are the exception (Merge PDF, Edit PDF export, Split PDF, Compress PDF in light mode, Watermark PDF, PDF Page Numbers): they send the file over HTTPS, process it in memory, return the result and keep nothing. Each of those says so on the page. We use a small number of cookies for analytics and advertising, and neither loads until you allow it.

What we store on your device

  • Theme preference — stored in localStorage to remember your light/dark mode choice.
  • Recently used tools — stored in localStorage to show your last 6 visited tools on the homepage.
  • Favorite tools — stored in localStorage to remember your starred tools.
  • Your cookie decision — stored in localStorage so we only ask once, and so analytics and ads stay off if you declined.
  • Saved signatures — signatures you save in Sign PDF, stored in localStorage.
  • Brand kit — your logo, colors and fonts for the studios, stored in localStorage.
  • Studio autosaves, templates and presets — the in-progress project in each studio, stored in localStorage.
  • Premium status — the ad-free flag, stored in localStorage. There is no server-side record of it.
  • Saved studio projects — stored in an IndexedDB database named toooolify-studios, which can hold large audio, video and design payloads.

These are all client-side only and never sent to any server.

Analytics

If you allow the analytics category, we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand which tools are popular and how the site is used. GA4 may set cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to distinguish unique visitors. These cookies do not contain personal information and are used solely for aggregate usage statistics. Decline and gtag.js is never loaded.

Advertising

The tools are free because the site carries ads from Google AdSense. If you allow the advertising category, the AdSense tag is loaded and Google may set third-party cookies and identifiers such as __gads and __gpi to limit repeat ads and measure them. Decline and the AdSense script is never requested and no ad slots are rendered — there is nothing to opt out of afterwards. The premium plan removes the ads entirely. We do not sell or share your data with any third party beyond the analytics and advertising described here.

Your cookie choices

Change your mind at any time — withdrawing is as easy as consenting, and takes effect immediately.

Analytics

Google Analytics 4 — counts which tools get used. Sets _ga and _ga_* cookies.

Clearing site data

You can clear cookies, localStorage and IndexedDB at any time through your browser settings, but read the list above first: clearing site data permanently deletes your saved studio projects, saved signatures, brand kit, templates, presets and premium status.None of it is backed up on our servers, so we cannot restore it. Export anything you want to keep first — the brand panel exports your brand kit as a file, and each studio has a “Save project” action that writes the project out as a file you keep. Preferences such as theme, favorites and recently used tools are the only things that simply reset.

Clearing site data also erases your cookie decision, so the banner will ask again on your next visit.
